The combined pension deficit for FTSE 100 companies has fallen to a record low, according to a new report released by a financial services company. Watson Wyatt claims that FTSE 100 pension deficits now stand at £31.8 billion, revealing a £8.2 billion reduction on December’s figures and nearly £60 billion less than the record highs observed during March 2003.
